I highly reccomend watching The Story of Stuff if you haven't already, or you know, if you just need a reminder.
And you should all seriously consider ordering some solid shampoo from Lush.
I started using it as my newest environmentally friendly thing on Earth Hour weekend. It cuts way down on the number of plastic bottles I buy and makes my hair look and feel awesome! Seriously, people have noticed.

I looove lush products. They're pretty unique to begin with and they smell good too :)
never heard of it but I'm down to try it...
p.s. love ur blog :)
lolita: Me too! Ive been using their silky underwear powder for years. I'm so glad I finally tried the solid shampoo and conditioner!
Seriouslyright?: Thanks very much! They've got a pretty good selection for different hair types and I think they're set up to ship just about anywhere. At first I thought they were a little pricey, but they seem to last forever!
The Story of Stuff was fantastic, I thought I knew all this stuff already, but no...I learned. The shampoo looks interesting too. Thanks Earth Girl!
Mari: I know! I thought the thing about pillows was hilarious/terrifying. It was something that had never occurred to me!
Solid shampoo and conditioner? Very keen to check it out - thanks for the recommendation!
NooOoOOoOOoOO! That's just what these companies want you to do: buy their products to make you feel good about saving the world.
OY!
That's a valid point that Mr. Apron makes about buying our consciences but since we live in a consumer-based society and people will probably continue to shampoo their hair for years to come, it's a step in the right direction. Think of all the plastic bottles we can stop putting into the world.! Think of how easy these little babies would be to transport. Count me in! Now, Mari and Sarah, about those shower naps.....
Happy Earth Day All
They just put a LUSH store in my mall!! Well the mall that's by my in-laws house an hour away! Any suggestions for next time I make it up there?
oh interesting. i haven't heard of this shampoo.. i should try it!
Cafe chick: Anytime!
Apron: I do think it's important to take a good look at companies that promote themselves as being "green", as some of them really have no or very little basis for that and are using it as a sales ploy. Lush is one I feel pretty confident about though.
Ruggy13: I have the Seanik (from the picture) and Godiva shampoos and I like them both. I also have the green solid conditioner (I think it's called jungle something) which I like as well although I find it a little harder to use because you have to kind of melt it in your hands. The people there are pretty helpful if you tell them what kind of hair/scalp/water you have.
Floreta: You should! I'm determined not to buy the bottled stuff anymore.
